being on your own: cooking

So I’m starting this series that I have meant to start about 5 years ago when I graduated high school but now that I’m graduating college in two semesters I thought this would be a good opportunity.
I have been living on my own with roommates in an apartment for about 3 years now and I love it. Being able to do what I please with decorating and cooking has been very rewarding experience.
In the recent year I went off my colleges meal plan just to be more independent and because I wanted healthier food options and know what is going into what I was cooking. For example on what this looks like, I food prep for the week, I budget my groceries, I go grocery shopping with my roommates on Sunday’s and go to local grocery stores or farmers markets on Sundays. I spend at most $80.00-$107.00 per week or every two weeks on groceries. I also got my self a instant pot.
here is the link i got it from
Instant Pot I purchased

it can cook you almost everything its incredible for a lazy, busy, tired, college student like myself.
Here is a video explaining what it is
It has helped me manage my time and also stay healthy while on the go.
Who wants a unhealthy, full of salt frozen meal when you can cook absolutely anything in your instant pot and better yet have left overs!
For someone who had a difficult time learning how to cook specially with a learning difference, this has bridge the gap for becoming very independent with my meals.
I now buy rice and frozen veggies in bulk rather than your typical frozen foods to just microwave. They also have meals on the website and on youtube.
I am not trying to sell you this I am only trying to excite you to become more independent! The instant pot has helped me become an amazing cook and also do more things during my day!
Happy cooking❤
